GBBC Partners & Resources

GBBC & GRA

Georgia's rapidly developing technology sector has been strengthened through a strategy designed and managed by the Georgia Research Alliance. This strategic partnership of Georgia's research universities, business community and state government has evolved into a potent force for job development in Georgia. The GRA currently provides substantial funding for the equipment needs of the Georgia BioBusiness Center and the Center for Applied Genetic Technologies.

GBBC & the SBDC

GBBC resident companies also benefit from our partnership with UGA's Business Outreach Services' Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Business Consultants from SBDC are available on an as-needed basis. Companies have benefited, for example, from SBDC assistance in setting up bookkeeping systems and creating realistic financial projections for their business plans.

GBBC & ATDC/GCATT

The GBBC has collaborative ties with the Atlanta-based business accelerators sponsored by the state and housed on the Georgia Tech campus. These include: the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (GCATT) and Fizzion. Resident companies benefit from access to ATDC's online database of business experts, vendors and essential business forms. Coordination with ATDC outreach services puts the pooled resources of all three incubators at the GBBC’s fingertips.

The ATDC accelerates the formation and growth of technology-based companies in Georgia and provides entrepreneurs with the assistance they need to bring new innovations to market. With over 20 years of experience and a track record of more than 79 successful startup companies, ATDC fosters the growth of Georgia's information industry through collaborative programs in research, education, health care, and public policy.

Resident programs at GCATT (in addition to ATDC companies) include: the Broadband Telecommunications Center, the Center for Digital Arts and Imaging, Georgia Tech's Center for Signal and Image Processing, the Georgia Tech Information Security Center and the Interactive Multimedia Technology Center.

GBBC & TAG

GBBC companies also have access to the Technology Alliance of Georgia (TAG) which helps companies get their voice to thousands of other technology professionals within the state of Georgia. TAG meetings and events offer a key networking and educational opportunity for Georgia's technology industry. TAG encompasses eight separate Societies which include: the Business & Technology Alliance (B&TA); the Business Education & Technology Alliance Southeast in Savannah, GA (BETA); the Southeastern Software Association (SSA); Women In Technology (WIT); Technology Marketing Association (TMA); Healthcare; The Interactive Media Alliance (TIMA) and the Central Georgia Technology Alliance (CGTA).
