ABOUT

The Center for Applied Genetic Technologies has facilities consisting of six buildings with laboratories and office space, including the Plant Genomics Laboratory, the Animal Genomics Laboratory, the Poultry Transgenic Facilities, the Mammalian Transgenic and Cloning Facility, and the Aquatic Biotechnology and Experimental Laboratory. CAGT will support each step in the development of a new biotechnology-based product, from basic discovery research through commercialization. This “vertical integration” will provide the pathway for successful development of new technologies, applications, and startup companies. Synergy among the research groups within CAGT industrial partners, and co-located startup companies, will increase the flow of technology transfer from the discovery laboratory to the marketplace.
